Muslim Teenagers Sadiq Gill - Strategies for Motivating Teenagers
Victor UsifoThere are different phases of growth in an individual's life and
because teenagers are human beings, they are no exceptions to the rule.
During this period of physical development of the body, teenagers are
irritable and unruly and parents find them hard to manage. At this
crucial time of their lives, parents worry about their children's
welfare and future prospects. It is okay to be concerned. But being
worried does not solve any problems. In the alternative, parents should
make an effort to find out how to motivate these teenagers, instead of
just hoping that all would be well someday. To rectify this
unhealthy situation, I urge parents to follow these reliable strategies
for motivating teenagers. They include: getting information, learning
from counselors and being more understanding. The other factors are;
being patient, developing effective communication skills, praying and
having faith.Let's clarify how these strategies could... (more)
Daily Devotion God's Counsel Stands
Date: Tuesday, August 04, 2015 Chapters: Isaiah 43-46 Message Title: God's Counsel Stands Hello My Friend, How often do we face some kind of affliction and after a while start to question why God allows these things in the first place? Pretty often I believe. We all have these expectations, even after we are saved, but sometimes they are far from what we tend to get. God gives us the life that He wants us to have, we may not understand how and why He puts us where He has us, but we can understand that he has a great purpose for it, even if it is something so tragic that we cannot fathom why He allowed it in the first place. Affliction of any kind brings us closer to God, and brings others to Him as well. “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: I... Dark of the Moon Mixed Bag
A co-worker recently asked me what my hopes, dreams and fears were.
"I just want a place of my own and to not have to keep moving, like, every year. My fear? Every time I see a homeless person I'm scared that that'll be me."
It would be nice to stay in one place -- somewhere clean and safe -- for longer than a year or two. To "nest" and decorate without worrying that it's a waste of time and money because I'll just be leaving in a couple months.
With my first place I had saved up some money but shortly after moving in my work started laying people off and I didn't know how much longer I'd have a job. So I never really "decorated." It was basically bare bones.
Then I decided to go back to school and rented a little basement bachelor. Money was tight as I was working only part-time, so bare bones it was again.
My father then asked me to move back in with him and so move again I did. The apartment was already nicely furnished thanks to my dad's horrible GF and I tried to embrace... (more)
happy reading Warum bin ich so darauf erpicht, Probleme zu erzeugen?
Es ist sehr schwierig, ohne Probleme zu leben, fast nicht
moeglich. Und warum? Weil die Probleme mich ablenken. Die
Probleme halten mich beschaeftigt. Ein Problem gibt mir was zu tun,
es haelt mich auf Trab. Wenn ich kein Problem haette, koennte ich
mich nicht staendig an meiner Oberflaeche aufhalten. Ohne Problem
wuerde ich in mein Zentrum fallen und von ihm aufgesogen werden.
In meinem Zentrum bin ich leer. Es ist wie die Nabe eines Rades: Das
ganze Rad bewegt sich um diese leere Nabe herum. In meinem
unsicher. So kommen mir die Probleme sehr gelegen. Wie kann ich
nach innen gehen, solange... (more)
The Common Ills Iraq snapshot
Monday, August 3, 2015. Chaos and violence continue, protests continue
in Iraq, the Parliament makes an announcement, Turkey continues bombing
northern Iraq, Hillary Clinton's support for war on Iraq remains an
issue, and much more.
Starting with the US presidential race (yes, the election does not take place until November 2016),
Stephen Zunes (at National Catholic Reporter) notes Hillary Clinton's still unexplained and unapologized for 2002 vote in support of war on Iraq:
Clinton is the only one of the five major announced candidates for
the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination who supported that illegal
and unnecessary war, which not only resulted in 4,500 American deaths
and thousands more permanently disabled, but hundreds of thousands of
Iraqi deaths, the destabilization of the region with the rise of ISIS,
and a dramatic increase in the federal deficit resulting in major
cutbacks to important social... (more)
